With over 20 years of experience in the field of special education, I have served as both a dedicated teacher and an accomplished administrator. My journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia, followed by a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Phoenix. I later earned my Educational Specialist degree from Berry College, further
solidifying my commitment to educational leadership.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained passionate about empowering diverse learners and creating inclusive environments where all students can thrive. I have a proven track record of advancing student achievement across all academic areas, and I am driven by the belief that every child has the potential to succeed when given the right support and opportunities.
I am an Atlanta native and attended public schools here along with my entire family. I graduated from Spelman College in May 1986 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in English. In 2000, I received my Teacher Certification from Clark Atlanta University.
I have been teaching lower primary aged scholars for 23 years. It is always my goal to make the school year the best ever for my students!
I am Yunice Patrick, an Atlanta native and a product of the Atlanta Public School System. A proud graduate of Frederick Douglass High School and received my Bachelor of Science degree from Spelman College. I am a “teacher’s kid”. Education was very important in my household growing up and thus became an important value taught to my three children. I have experienced three aspects of the education system in Georgia, private, public, and I have homeschooled. One thing I know for sure, small groups are very beneficial in helping a child achieve academic success. I believe if children master the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic, academic and vocational success are inevitable. With this belief, I founded Academic Pods of Georgia.
